Tracking the Spectacle of Migration: Radar
April 2011 |
Fact Sheet
Boreal Songbird Initiative
While many birders across the continent enjoy seeing migratory birds pass through their neigborhood, this factsheet explains another way to see birds migrate: radar. Doppler radar picks up bird activity on clear nights and can provide useful information as to whether or not you might see large numbers of migrants in your area.
