Boreal Songbird Initiative and Canadian Boreal Initiative
Globally, boreal forests are the world's largest terrestrial carbon storehouse, storing almost twice as much carbon per acre as tropical forests. In addition, intact boreal ecosystems are expected to play a large role in species adaptation in light of climate change. This factsheet summarizes these findings and presents the case for increased boreal forest protection.
