Help Protect Quebec Land for Boreal Birds As spring approaches, birders across the continent eagerly anticipate the return of a flood of ducks, shorebirds, warblers, sparrows, and other migratory birds that winter to our south. A billion birds or more are on their way north to breeding grounds within the Boreal including many within Quebec. Large numbers of birds like Canada Warblers, Cape May Warblers, Rusty Blackbirds, and American Black Ducks nest in the forests and wetlands of Quebec's Boreal region. However, only 3.4% of Quebec's province is protected, while plans to log significant portions of Northern Quebec are underway. Join with over 100,000 other citizens of North America to sign the Sleeping Like a Log petition and let the government of Quebec know that more land needs to be protected to protect Boreal birds. |

The Boreal: Starring in an International Migratory Bird Day Event Near You! Are you ready? International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) is just around the corner on May 13! We're excited that this year's theme is North America's Boreal Forest. All around the U.S. and Canada, as well as in Central and South America - at zoos, schools, parks, and more - you'll find events focusing on the Boreal and the billions of migratory birds that breed there. Our web site provides more information about IMBD, and provides links to an interactive map of IMBD events, as well as links to order t-shirts, educational materials, and more. |

Shop Smart, Save Birds! Boreal bird habitat is being destroyed - at the rate of half a million acres a year - to make toilet paper, facial tissues, paper towels and other disposable paper products. You can help halt this destruction, and help make the Boreal Forest safe for Boreal birds, by making smart shopping decisions. This handy wallet-sized green guide provides a list of tissue paper products to buy - and a few to avoid. Keep it in your wallet and refer to it when you're shopping for household paper products!
